A computer health check is a structured inspection of a business computer covering hardware condition, disk health, operating system support status, updates, security software, performance and backup, ending in a written report with prioritised recommendations.

What a health check examines

Checks are performed remotely for software and configuration items, with a physical inspection where dust, heat or battery condition is relevant — a genuine factor in the Caribbean climate. Each device receives a rating and a short list of actions ranked by risk.

Frequently asked questions

How often should business computers be health checked?

Annually as a minimum, and twice a year for machines over three years old or used in dusty, hot or humid conditions. Businesses on a managed IT service get continuous monitoring, which replaces most manual checking.

Does a health check cause downtime?

Very little. Most checks run remotely while the computer is in use. Only physical inspection or remediation work needs the machine to be unavailable, and that is scheduled with the user.

Will you tell us to buy new computers?
